Shopping online in India is really catching up. As per Google number of Indians online has risen from 0% in 1993 to around 8% in 2010 of India's population. Interestingly number of net shoppers is also catching figure of 35 percent of net users as per ET.
Reason behind the rise in number of online shoppers is easy access of internet ,cheaper PC's and Laptops, and large number of websites with ever increasing products.People are enjoying shopping tension free from the comfort of their homes,with better options of comparing products and prices.Another major reason for good response is option of cash on delivery,earlier this was a problem ,because most of the people were not having credit cards ,secondly they feel better sense of security and experience of paying after getting products.
Increasing number of mobile phones with better and cheaper net accesses are also helping users to shop online ,as latest mobiles let us shop 24x7.we are also getting products at better prices ,as products are directly supplied from ware houses ,saving cost of showroom rent,transportation and other expenses which are suppose to add to cost of the product.
People are enjoying benefits and also at the same time it is helping saving our environment. Yes as products are coming directly from warehouses ,saving fuel and pollution. Lot of paper is saved as dealing in wholesalers and dealers is reduced. We save electricity indirectly saving environment as
showroom and big shops consumes lot of energy on lightening , AC's and heaters etc.
In nutshell online shopping is a great change in our life style, giving us freedom of shopping anywhere,anytime,any brand,best prices and green environment.
